Vangrid Launches USDC Bounty Market for AI-Ready 3D Mapping

Vangrid has introduced a decentralized marketplace where users earn USDC by capturing smartphone footage of specific real-world locations. The platform, which has already facilitated over $675,000 in bounty settlements, transforms these submissions into textured 3D models for use in robotics, autonomous navigation, and simulation environments.

The process functions through a structured escrow system on the Base or Arc networks. Requesters post a bounty detailing a specific location and deadline, while contributors film the site using a smartphone. Once a requester selects a winning submission, the smart contract releases the funds, minus a 10% platform fee and reconstruction costs. For a standard $50 bounty, the contributor typically receives $40, while the buyer gains a GLB-formatted 3D model with onchain verification.

Technically, Vangrid employs a multi-layered verification process to ensure data integrity. Incoming video undergoes quality checks and automated blurring of sensitive information like faces and license plates. The platform generates a capture fingerprint containing a content hash and location data, anchoring the root of these records to the Base blockchain every 15 minutes. This creates a traceable history for every model produced.

Beyond human participants, the platform integrates with AI agents via the x402 protocol. Software agents can autonomously commission captures by posting bounties ranging from 50 to 5,000 USDC. This automated workflow allows AI systems to request real-world spatial data without manual intervention. Following a $9 million funding round involving backers such as Animoca Brands and HashKey, Vangrid is positioning its mapping infrastructure for enterprise-scale robotics and digital twin development.
