Dogecoin Faces Critical Test at $0.10 After Weekly Rally

Dogecoin has reclaimed the $0.10 threshold for the first time since June, capping a 25% surge over the past week. However, as the initial buying frenzy cools and the token slips beneath key short-term moving averages, market participants are divided on whether this recovery marks a sustained breakout or a temporary peak.

Dogecoin Faces Critical Test at $0.10 After Weekly Rally

The recent price action, which saw the token climb from lows of $0.080 in mid-September to touch $0.10, has left the asset in a state of consolidation. While bullish sentiment persists among some analysts, technical indicators signal a loss of immediate momentum. The 14-period Relative Strength Index has retreated to 48.40, cooling from overbought territory and signaling a neutral, wait-and-see environment for traders.

Derivatives markets reflect this high-stakes positioning. Futures open interest currently stands near $1.64 billion, with daily turnover exceeding $3 billion—a figure significantly higher than spot market activity. This leverage suggests that while whales accumulated over 240 million DOGE during the September pullback, the asset remains vulnerable to sharp liquidations if it fails to flip the $0.10 mark into a reliable support level.

Looking ahead, analysts view the $0.1175 and $0.15 levels as the next potential objectives for a sustained rally, provided the current price can reclaim its nine-period and 21-period moving averages. Complicating the outlook is the impending closure of the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF, which is slated to cease trading on October 14. As the market digests these competing signals, the ability of the $0.10 zone to hold against selling pressure will determine the trajectory of the coin's short-term trend.
