The user base within the licensed ecosystem grew to 215,000, up from 53,000 in 2023. Deputy Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Gizzat Baitursynov confirmed these figures during a government meeting, noting the success of the regulatory pilot launched in 2022. To maintain oversight, the National Bank is establishing a national crypto analytics center to monitor fiat payments and transfers, integrating it with existing anti-fraud tools.
Beyond trading, the government is aggressively fostering a domestic Web3 developer base, particularly through its partnership with the Solana ecosystem. Over 8,000 individuals have received training, and local startups secured 121 million tenge in grants. The country has now moved toward tokenizing physical assets, with plans to bring $60 million in real estate and logistics projects onto the blockchain by the end of 2026. This transition complements existing initiatives, such as the Solana-based exchange-traded fund launched with the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange and state-backed mining frameworks that require operators to contribute to a national digital asset reserve.
