Binance to Prune USDC Spot Markets for Four Tokens

Binance will terminate four USDC spot trading pairs on September 18 at 03:00 UTC, citing periodic reviews of liquidity and trading volume. While the exchange is shuttering specific markets for BREV, COOKIE, LA, and QNT, the underlying assets remain available for trade through other supported pairs, including USDT.

The removal affects BREV/USDC, COOKIE/USDC, LA/USDC, and QNT/USDC. Binance confirmed that this action is limited to specific quote markets rather than a full delisting of the tokens themselves. Users can continue to trade these assets against other currencies, such as USDT, which remain active on the platform. The exchange emphasized that the decision stems from standard market evaluations, though it did not specify unique performance issues for any single token in the group.

Automated trading services are also impacted by this change. Any Spot Trading Bots configured to operate on the four specific USDC pairs will cease at the same 03:00 UTC deadline. Binance has advised users to update or cancel these active strategies before the cutoff to prevent potential losses. This move follows a broader trend of market consolidation on the platform, which previously saw the removal of 23 other spot pairs across various quote assets to optimize liquidity distribution.
