The bank’s research, led by global head of digital assets Geoff Kendrick, outlines an aggressive growth path that begins with interim targets of $0.50 by 2026, scaling to $3.50 by 2028. This bullish outlook hinges on Arbitrum’s role as the primary infrastructure for "TradFi" operators, with the bank forecasting that the tokenized equity market will balloon to $750 billion by 2028.
A cornerstone of this thesis is the success of the Robinhood Chain, which operates under the Arbitrum Expansion Program. By returning 10% of its net protocol revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem, the network has provided a tangible proof-of-concept for how corporate chains can bolster DAO income. In July alone, such expansion fees accounted for 35% of the DAO's total revenue, signaling a shift toward sustainable, usage-based economics.
Despite the optimistic projections, the bank notes significant risks that could derail these estimates. Current governance structures do not automatically distribute network revenue to token holders, a factor Standard Chartered highlights as a potential barrier to valuation. Furthermore, the forecast assumes a rapid maturation of the on-chain asset market, leaving the price target vulnerable to regulatory friction, competitive pressures from rival blockchains, and slower-than-expected adoption of tokenized real-world assets.
