The transfer of 1,030 BTC, valued at approximately $66.14 million, caught the attention of onchain analytics platform Lookonchain, which flagged the activity as potentially tied to Strategy. However, the company has not confirmed a sale. Its most recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing, dated August 2, reports total holdings of 842,138 BTC, a figure that remains unchanged in official public disclosures. Onchain movements often reflect internal rebalancing between custodians or trading accounts rather than divestment.
Strategy previously confirmed the sale of 1,638 BTC between July 27 and August 2, netting $104.73 million to fund preferred stock dividends and share repurchases. This monetization program, approved by the board in June, allows for flexible Bitcoin usage, marking a departure from the company’s former strategy of continuous accumulation.
Separately, MARA moved 6,000 BTC to Two Prime, an institutional asset manager with whom the miner maintains an existing financial relationship. MARA previously allocated 2,000 BTC to Two Prime for yield strategies in 2025. Given this history, the transfer may indicate an expansion of managed accounts rather than a market exit. With Bitcoin trading near $64,387, neither company has indicated an immediate intent to offload these assets, leaving investors to await formal regulatory filings for clarity on the ownership status of the moved coins.
