Ripple Deepens Robinhood Ties as Swell Conference Kicks Off

As the Ripple Swell conference convenes in Manhattan, the company has unveiled a strategic partnership with Robinhood, centering on its RLUSD stablecoin and institutional treasury services. Ripple Deepens Robinhood Ties as Swell Conference Kicks Off

The agreement between Ripple and Robinhood encompasses a broad range of financial operations, from institutional lending and margin financing to corporate cash management. While RLUSD is already live on Robinhood Chain, the companies expect to integrate the stablecoin directly into the Robinhood app by the end of the year. The partnership utilizes Ripple Prime to facilitate spot trading and upcoming perpetual futures, targeting Robinhood’s global base of 28.6 million funded accounts.

Simultaneously, Ripple confirmed the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has granted final approval for Ripple National Trust Bank. This entity is set to oversee segregated reserves for RLUSD and provide fiduciary custody services. Standard Custody & Trust Company will continue to handle actual issuance, while BNY maintains its role as the primary reserve custodian, holding a mix of dollar deposits and government securities.

Amid these developments, speculation has swirled regarding the appearance of U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at the Swell event. While social media reports suggest his participation, the Treasury has not confirmed the claim, nor does he appear on the official verified speaker list for the three-day gathering. The conference, held at The Shed, continues to host industry leaders, including executives from BNY and Tradeweb, alongside discussions on fund tokenization and the broader XRP Ledger ecosystem.
