VanEck Debuts Wealth Builder ETF With Integrated Bitcoin Exposure

VanEck has introduced its Wealth Builder ETF, ticker WBMO, offering a diversified portfolio of global stocks, bonds, and real assets. The actively managed fund incorporates indirect cryptocurrency exposure through digital asset exchange-traded products, maintaining a net annual expense ratio of 0.26% for investors.

The new fund transitions VanEck’s existing model portfolios into a single, exchange-traded vehicle, previously available only to financial advisers. By utilizing an open-architecture approach, the firm selects a mix of its own products and third-party ETFs to target long-term themes, including technological shifts and inflation trends. Portfolio manager David Schassler noted that the strategy focuses on asset classes positioned for performance over the next decade, managed with a disciplined allocation process.

To manage digital asset exposure, VanEck utilizes a wholly owned Cayman Islands subsidiary, which holds ETPs rather than direct cryptocurrency. This subsidiary investment is capped at 25% of the fund’s total assets at each fiscal quarter-end to align with federal tax requirements. While the fund does not invest directly in futures or swaps, the underlying ETPs may employ these derivatives. The 0.26% net expense ratio is achieved through a 0.07% fee waiver, which reduces the gross ratio from 0.33%.
