Memecoin fatigue: 79% of Pump.fun tokens vanish after launch day

Nearly eight out of every 10 tokens launched on Pump.fun fail to see a single trade after their first day, underscoring a deepening crisis of confidence among retail participants. As the market floods with thousands of new assets daily, traders are increasingly abandoning the sector, citing a lack of long-term utility.

Memecoin fatigue: 79% of Pump.fun tokens vanish after launch day

Data from blockchain provider Bitquery reveals a grim survival rate for new Solana-based tokens. Between November 2025 and October 2026, only 1.5% of the nearly 9 million Pump.fun tokens tracked maintained any trading activity by their fifth week. This trend is not confined to a single platform; similar patterns appear across rivals, with 84% of Raydium LaunchLab tokens and 51% of Meteora Dynamic Bonding Curve assets suffering identical liquidity collapses within 24 hours of inception.

Market participants point to a fundamental shift in sentiment. Where memecoins once thrived on the communal potential of turning internet jokes into billion-dollar phenomena, the current environment is defined by rapid-fire bot activity and instant exit strategies. Traders like the social media user known as Mystral argue that the ecosystem suffers from a surplus of coins and a critical deficit of incentives to hold them. Others describe the platforms as high-speed casinos where the primary product is short-lived attention rather than sustained value. Even as platforms like Flap.sh and Pons process thousands of daily deployments, the vast majority of these contracts fail to graduate from their initial bonding curves, leaving early buyers to bear the cost of an increasingly exhausted market.
