XRP Whale Activity Hits Five-Year Low as Price Stagnates

XRP whale outflows from Binance have plummeted to a five-year low, with the 90-day moving average sliding to $49.7 million. This sharp contraction from the $3.5 billion peak observed in February 2025 highlights a cooling of large-scale market activity as the asset struggles to maintain momentum near the $1.30 price level.

The current figure, cited by analyst Darkfost, represents a 98.6% drop from the cycle high. While such a decline often signals that major investors are waiting for more favorable entry points, the data reflects only a single exchange and remains subject to the influence of internal wallet rebalancing rather than pure accumulation. XRP continues to trade within a tight range of $1.29 to $1.32, failing to reclaim its major exponential moving averages, which currently cluster between $1.33 and $1.37.

Technical indicators suggest the asset remains in a defensive posture. With the Relative Strength Index at 36.49, the price faces immediate downward pressure toward the $1.28 support zone. Should this level fail, market observers are eyeing deeper support areas between $1.00 and $1.25. Meanwhile, the XRP Ledger is preparing for the October 23 activation of the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment, which addresses technical bugs in automated market makers and transaction processing. Despite this network progress, proposed lending protocols remain stalled, currently lacking the necessary validator support to move forward.
