The Q3 data, sourced from Allium, reveals that Solana activity has climbed 104% since the final quarter of 2025. This volume translates to roughly 97 million successful transactions daily, or 1,122 per second. Solana Compass, an independent indexer, reported a slightly lower figure of 8.78 billion transactions, citing differences in how completed non-vote activity is tracked. Both datasets confirm a consistent upward trajectory in network usage throughout the year.
However, this rise in transaction throughput has not shielded SOL from price volatility. Market data from CoinGecko shows the token fluctuating near $104.21, reflecting a 3.5% decline over the past week. Analysts note that transaction counts do not inherently distinguish between human-driven activity and automated bot traffic, leaving the true organic demand for the network unclear. Furthermore, recent research from DWF Labs indicates that while Solana maintains a presence in tokenized-equity trading, its dominance in that specific sector has shifted significantly since January.
Technical developments continue alongside these usage metrics. The network is scheduled to implement the Alpenglow upgrade on October 21, which aims to optimize finality to approximately 150 milliseconds by restructuring how validators handle voting certificates. While this change alters consensus mechanics, the Foundation confirmed that transaction execution, fee structures, and user-facing processes remain unaffected by the update.
