Tokenized Equities Surge to $3.8B as DEX Trading Volume Explodes

A 55-fold increase in weekly decentralized exchange trading has propelled the tokenized equities market to a $3.8 billion valuation. According to data from DWF Labs, this growth represents a 483% gain since January, signaling a shift in how investors move and deploy traditional assets on-chain.

The expansion of tokenized stocks is outpacing the growth of the underlying assets themselves. While total market value climbed to $3.8 billion, weekly transfer volume surged 41.8 times, reaching $17.5 billion by October. This velocity suggests that tokenization is increasingly serving as a functional tool for liquidity rather than a passive store of value, with DeFi deposits climbing to $313 million—a significant jump from the $15.5 million recorded at the start of the year.

Market leadership remains concentrated among a few key issuers. Ondo Finance holds the top spot with $1 billion in assets, followed closely by xStocks and Binance, which command $954 million and $905 million respectively. Together, these three entities control 75% of the sector. Despite this concentration, the infrastructure supporting these trades has shifted significantly; BNB Chain now commands 32% of tokenized equity value, eclipsing Ethereum’s once-dominant 50% share, which has since contracted to 22%.

Growth persists despite warnings regarding volatility. The International Monetary Fund recently reported that tokenized stocks exhibit realized volatility 1.5 times higher than their conventional counterparts. Furthermore, much of this activity occurs outside traditional U.S. market hours, with decentralized exchanges facilitating a large portion of the turnover. While the market remains in its infancy, the data indicates that demand is moving beyond simple holding toward active deployment in lending protocols and yield markets like Kamino and Pendle.
