Tether and CMCC Global Back Saber Money for Asia and Gulf Expansion

Saber Money has secured strategic backing from stablecoin issuer Tether and CMCC Global’s Titan Fund to accelerate its cross-border payment operations. The fintech firm aims to leverage this capital to obtain new regulatory licenses and establish banking partnerships across the Asia-Pacific and Gulf regions, targeting the growing demand for efficient business-to-business transfers.

The company, which operates infrastructure allowing financial institutions and businesses to move funds via stablecoins, reported a sixfold increase in payment volumes over the last nine months. By processing billions of dollars across more than 40 countries, Saber has established a footprint that includes existing authorizations in Canada, the European Union, India, and Australia. According to the firm, over 90% of its transactions currently clear in under one minute.

Saber CEO Edul Patel noted that the expansion will focus on markets where international transfers are hampered by high costs and excessive reliance on intermediaries. By securing direct access to local banking networks, the company intends to offer tailored B2B services, including payroll management and corporate treasury operations. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized the importance of these emerging markets for stablecoin adoption, suggesting that the technology offers a viable alternative to traditional financial plumbing.

While the specific valuation and amount of the funding round remain undisclosed, the move aligns with a broader industry trend of stablecoin providers targeting high-growth remittance corridors. Titan Fund co-founder Shiau Sin Yen highlighted that Asia accounts for approximately 53% of global remittance flows, projecting that cross-border B2B stablecoin payments could reach $5 trillion by 2035. Saber, which counts Y Combinator and Nexus Ventures among its backers, joins a competitive field of infrastructure providers such as Fin.com that are currently vying to bridge the gap between digital assets and local fiat liquidity.
