Crypto PAC Fairshake Commits $6 Million to House Incumbents

The crypto-backed political action committee Fairshake is deploying an initial $6 million to bolster six congressional incumbents, marking the start of a broader strategy for the 2026 midterms. Supported by industry giants like Coinbase and Ripple, the organization is prioritizing candidates who backed the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.

The PAC has earmarked $1 million for each of the six selected representatives, split evenly between three Democrats and three Republicans. The Democratic slate features Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Derek Tran of California, and Steven Horsford of Nevada. On the Republican side, the funds will support Arkansas Representative French Hill, Michigan Representative Bill Huizenga, and Wisconsin Representative Bryan Steil.

These allocations are not direct contributions but represent election spending coordinated by the PAC. Spokesperson Geoff Vetter characterized the organization as issue-focused, aiming to cultivate a pro-crypto caucus that transcends traditional party lines. The selection process heavily weights legislative records, specifically votes in favor of the CLARITY Act, a proposal intended to establish a federal framework for digital asset oversight. The three Republican recipients hold significant influence on the House Financial Services Committee, with Hill serving as chair and Steil leading the subcommittee dedicated to digital assets.

Beyond these initial six candidates, Fairshake has outlined a 32-member slate that includes several members of congressional leadership. This effort operates alongside a separate, aggressive $30 million campaign aimed at opposing former Senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio. With FEC records showing over $137 million in receipts through July 2026, the PAC continues to exert significant financial pressure on the legislative landscape to ensure favorable regulation for the digital asset industry.
