Binance Wallet streamlines gas payments with USDT integration

Binance Wallet now allows users to pay transaction gas fees using USDT across the BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, Solana, and TRON networks. Launched September 25, the update eliminates the immediate requirement for users to hold native blockchain tokens to execute transactions, simplifying the experience for those primarily holding stablecoin balances.

The wallet calculates required network fees in real-time based on current blockchain congestion. While USDT now serves as a payment vehicle for these costs, Binance clarified that the funds go directly to network validators rather than the company. This change addresses a common friction point where users could hold assets but remain unable to move them due to a lack of native gas tokens like ETH or SOL.

Beyond the wallet itself, users can draw on supported assets held in their connected Binance Exchange accounts to cover these fees. If neither wallet USDT nor exchange balances are available, standard methods—such as transferring tokens from the exchange or purchasing native assets—remain necessary. The company also maintains a separate promotional program for TRON users, offering zero gas fees on TRC-20 transfers through December 22, 2026, supported by the TRON DAO.

Binance emphasized that these network charges remain distinct from any service fees the wallet may apply to internal swaps. The company plans to extend this USDT payment feature to additional networks in the future, though no specific timeline has been provided. As a self-custody product provided by Binance Barbados Limited, the wallet continues to operate independently of the regulatory oversight applied to the main exchange platform.
