GIWA Denies Mainnet RPC Leak, Citing Non-Existent Network

GIWA has officially rejected viral social media claims that its mainnet RPC endpoint was compromised. The Ethereum Layer 2 project, backed by South Korean exchange Upbit, stated on Sept. 27 that such a security breach is impossible because the network has not yet reached a live production state.

GIWA Denies Mainnet RPC Leak, Citing Non-Existent Network

The project’s technical documentation confirms this position, showing that only the GIWA Sepolia testnet is currently operational. While developers can access public testnet endpoints for smart contract deployment and integration testing, all mainnet-related infrastructure remains marked as under development or coming soon. The team urged users to exercise caution and perform their own research to avoid scams circulating ahead of the official launch.

Built on the OP Stack, GIWA is designed to function as an Ethereum Layer 2 solution, utilizing ETH for gas fees with potential future support for stablecoin payments via a Paymaster system. Currently, the project’s broader ecosystem, including the GIWA Wallet and planned stablecoin services, remains in the pre-release phase. Upbit operator Dunamu continues to develop the chain as part of a broader strategy to expand its infrastructure beyond centralized exchange operations, though no specific timeline for the mainnet debut has been disclosed.
