Binance to Rebrand Funding Account as Dedicated Stocks Hub

Starting September 29, Binance will initiate a phased migration of non-stock crypto assets from Funding Accounts into Spot Accounts, setting the stage for the Funding Account to be officially renamed as a dedicated Stocks Account by January 2027 to accommodate U.S. equities and options.

The transition marks a significant shift in Binance’s wallet architecture, aimed at isolating traditional securities from standard cryptocurrency holdings. While the Funding Account name will persist during the interim, it will cease accepting on-chain deposits as the exchange separates stock settlement from its broader digital asset structure. Once the migration concludes in January, the new Stocks Account will be reserved exclusively for U.S. equities, stock options, and six designated settlement assets: USD, USDC, USDT, USD1, U, and BNB.

Users are not required to manage the migration manually, as Binance plans to roll out a One-Click Migration feature for those seeking early transfers. Remaining balances will be shifted in automated batches starting in January. This structural overhaul extends to several integrated services, including Binance Pay, Convert, and the Alpha limit-order program, all of which will transition to Spot-based settlements. P2P advertisers will receive a separate, dedicated account in December to manage their listings, with the exchange warning that any unmigrated advertisements will be closed automatically after the January 2027 deadline.
