Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Accumulation With $75.7 Million Purchase

Strategy has broken a two-week hiatus on Bitcoin acquisitions, deploying $75.7 million to add 950 coins to its treasury. The move, disclosed in a Sept. 21 regulatory filing, brings the firm’s total holdings to 846,000 BTC as it balances crypto expansion with an ongoing $174 million preferred stock buyback program.

Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Accumulation With $75.7 Million Purchase

The latest acquisition occurred between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20, with the company securing the assets at an average price of $79,670 per coin. With Bitcoin trading near $84,925 at the time of publication, the firm’s aggregate holdings—acquired for a total of $63.80 billion—now carry an unrealized gain of approximately $8.05 billion. Unlike previous rounds that relied on stock sales, this purchase was funded entirely through existing cash reserves, leading to a 20% decline in the company’s deployable USD cash to $1.05 billion.

While Bitcoin buying has restarted, the firm’s capital allocation remains tilted toward its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock (STRC). The company spent $174 million on 1.77 million STRC shares during the same period, more than double the amount allocated to Bitcoin. By retiring these securities at prices below their $100 stated value, the firm aims to reduce future dividend obligations while keeping the stock price stable. Meanwhile, market sentiment remains positive, with Strategy shares climbing 7.4% to $165.20 in premarket trading. Strive also bolstered its position, adding 1,355 BTC to reach a total treasury of 26,355 coins.
