Fin.com Secures $20M to Bridge Stablecoins and Local Banking

New York-based payments startup Fin.com has raised $20 million in seed funding to scale its cross-border infrastructure, aiming to convert stablecoins into spendable local currency across South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East through a single API.

Led by Expa and Uber co-founder Garrett Camp, the financing round attracted support from Coinbase Ventures, Tenet Fund, and various investors linked to sovereign and royal family offices. Founders Nabeel Alamgir and Mustafa Dar are positioning the platform to solve what they term the "last mile delivery problem," where blockchain-based settlement meets the friction of traditional financial systems. By integrating stablecoins like USDC and USDT with local banking rails, the company allows businesses to facilitate payouts via mobile wallets and regional networks such as M-Pesa, GCash, and PIX.

The startup currently supports over 40 currencies across 30 countries, claiming settlement times under 60 minutes—a significant reduction from the traditional two-to-five-day banking window. While the company maintains operations from New York to Dubai and Lahore, it operates under specific regulatory constraints; for instance, its subsidiary Wind Technologies holds an Innovation Testing Licence from the Dubai Financial Services Authority, which limits full-scale financial activity until specific client-money accounts are finalized. With the global stablecoin market capitalization hovering near $305 billion, Fin.com joins a crowded field of infrastructure providers, including TransFi and Latitude, all competing to capture the growing demand for digital dollar liquidity in emerging markets.
