Raydium LaunchLab pivots to flexible token pairing on Solana

Raydium has overhauled its LaunchLab platform to support trading between any token pair, moving away from the fixed-asset structures that previously dominated Solana meme-token launches. The StonkFun platform, integrated via LaunchOnSF, is the first to deploy under this model, aiming to lower costs and deepen liquidity for new projects.

The upgrade allows creators to select custom quote tokens for deployments, enabling communities to build markets around assets beyond standard pairings. This shift requires comprehensive updates to Raydium’s programs, aggregators, and trading terminals to ensure smooth routing for custom pairs. StonkFun reported that the new system significantly reduced deployment costs, dropping from 0.29 SOL to 0.03 SOL per launch, while simultaneously allowing liquidity provider fees to be reinvested into the pools.

This evolution represents a strategic response to the shifting competitive landscape of Solana decentralized exchanges. Since Pump.fun launched its own PumpSwap infrastructure in early 2025—effectively ending the steady migration of newly created tokens into Raydium pools—Raydium has sought to regain momentum by offering more granular control to developers. By enabling permissionless deployments with customizable bonding curves and flexible assets, Raydium aims to retain its status as a primary execution venue despite the rise of specialized rivals like BisonFi and Manifest.
