Solana leads $100 million inflow surge for Bitwise crypto ETFs

Investors poured approximately $100 million into Bitwise’s suite of U.S. crypto exchange-traded products on August 27, signaling a sharp appetite for altcoin exposure. While Bitcoin remains a staple, Solana products captured the largest share of the daily intake, drawing roughly $40 million in net new capital.

Solana leads $100 million inflow surge for Bitwise crypto ETFs

The surge was anchored by the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, or BSOL, which saw its highest trading volume since launch at $126 million. CEO Hunter Horsley confirmed that Solana products accounted for nearly 40% of the firm's daily inflows, significantly outpacing Bitcoin’s $22 million contribution. Interest in the fund has been bolstered by its staking yield features and recent institutional moves, such as a major bank approving BSOL shares as collateral for loans with a 25% loan-to-value ratio.

Secondary assets also saw notable movement, with Hyperliquid and XRP products attracting $20 million and $12 million, respectively. In contrast, Ethereum products drew a more modest $1.4 million. These figures represent net inflows—new capital entering the funds—rather than total trading volume, which measures the exchange of existing shares. The distinction is critical for BSOL, where the $126 million volume suggests high liquidity and active secondary market trading rather than purely new share creation.

This influx arrives during a broader recovery for U.S. crypto investment products, with spot Bitcoin ETFs recently recording eight consecutive sessions of positive flows totaling $2.8 billion. While the data suggests shifting investor interest toward alternative assets, these preliminary disclosures remain subject to official fund-level reporting. Whether this trend represents a lasting institutional pivot or a short-term tactical allocation remains to be seen as market participants await deeper verification of the share creations.
