LayerZero Unveils ATLAS Exchange Infrastructure as ZRO Rallies

Following the announcement of ATLAS, a new exchange infrastructure layer built on the Zero blockchain, LayerZero’s native ZRO token climbed more than 16%. The system aims to provide a neutral backend for financial institutions and trading venues, consolidating trade matching, clearing, and settlement into a single, high-performance stack.

LayerZero Unveils ATLAS Exchange Infrastructure as ZRO Rallies

ATLAS, an acronym for Aggregated Trading, Liquidity and Settlement, is designed as a headless exchange model. It allows brokers and financial firms to manage user interfaces and client distribution while offloading the complex, backend heavy lifting to LayerZero’s infrastructure. By leveraging the zero-knowledge proof architecture of the Zero network—introduced earlier this year with backing from firms like Citadel Securities and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation—the platform intends to handle up to 200,000 transactions per second with sub-millisecond latency.

Under this model, the network supports two distinct configurations: Open ATLAS for public financial products and prediction markets, and Institutional ATLAS, which permits operators to enforce custom access rules. The ZRO token plays a central role in this ecosystem, serving as the primary asset for governance, staking, and gas. To incentivize adoption, LayerZero will implement a fee-rebate structure where venues can earn significant discounts based on their ZRO holdings. Furthermore, 75% of the remaining fees generated by the Open ATLAS environment will be dedicated to a token buy-and-burn program, linking the platform's long-term utility directly to the token’s supply.
