Interlace Opens Brazil Hub to Capture Latin American Stablecoin Growth

Stablecoin infrastructure firm Interlace has established a physical presence in Brazil, appointing Guilherme Santos as country manager to spearhead its regional push. The expansion aims to integrate the company’s digital asset payment rails with local financial institutions and cross-border trade platforms in one of the world’s most active crypto markets.

Interlace Opens Brazil Hub to Capture Latin American Stablecoin Growth

The company’s entry into Brazil follows a period of rapid adoption for stablecoins in the country, where they now account for approximately 90% of reported crypto flows. By stationing a team in Brazil, Interlace intends to bridge the gap between global digital asset infrastructure and established domestic networks like the Pix instant-payment system. While Interlace has not announced specific banking partners, its strategy focuses on supporting Web3 projects and businesses that require seamless interaction between fiat and stablecoin payment rails.

Navigating Regulatory Hurdles

Interlace arrives as Brazilian regulators tighten oversight of the digital asset sector. The International Monetary Fund has recently called for more robust anti-money laundering controls and asset protection measures, citing the rapid growth of cross-border crypto transactions. Furthermore, Banco Central do Brasil has implemented strict rules regarding the use of virtual assets in international payment channels, specifically mandating that regulated eFX providers utilize traditional foreign exchange mechanisms for settlement. Consequently, Interlace must operate within a complex compliance environment that separates private digital asset activity from regulated financial settlement infrastructure. Following its debut at Blockchain.RIO, the firm plans to continue its regional momentum by showcasing its card-issuance projects at the Argentina Crecimiento LATAM Digital Assets Conference.
