The network’s stablecoin dominance coincides with a broader push for integration within the United States. During the second quarter, Binance.US restored spot trading for TRX, while Bitnomial introduced regulated futures contracts. These developments, alongside Canary Capital’s amended filing for a staked TRX exchange-traded product under the ticker TRXS, signal a significant shift in the asset’s institutional accessibility.
Network activity remains robust, with daily transactions averaging over 12 million. This elevated usage drove network fees to $699.4 million in the second quarter, a 15.9% increase. This marks the first quarterly rise since a 2025 governance change lowered energy costs. Despite the uptick in fees, the network’s supply continues to expand; circulating TRX reached 94.85 billion by the end of June as token issuance outpaced the burn rate.
Regulatory scrutiny remains a factor in TRON's expansion. In July, the U.S. Treasury added 131 TRON addresses to its ISIS K designation, leading to the freezing of those assets by Tether. Looking ahead, the network’s trajectory depends on its ability to sustain current transaction volumes and navigate the evolving U.S. compliance landscape for exchange-traded products.
