Senator Warner warns Wall Street against paid early access to Trump posts

Senator Mark Warner is pressing major financial trade groups to reject a proposed data feed from Truth Social that would provide paid subscribers with lightning-fast access to Donald Trump’s posts. The Democrat argues that selling privileged looks at market-moving government communications creates a dangerous form of information asymmetry.

Senator Warner warns Wall Street against paid early access to Trump posts

The product, known as Truth API, promises to deliver posts from 10 influential accounts at speeds far exceeding standard platform notifications. According to reports, Trump Media & Technology Group has considered charging institutional investors up to $100,000 per month for the service, with long-term discounts available at $60,000 monthly. Warner, a senior member of the Senate Intelligence and Banking committees, contends the arrangement allows the former president to personally profit from what effectively function as official policy announcements.

In letters sent to the heads of six prominent industry groups, including the American Bankers Association and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, Warner urged firms to publicly disavow the program. While tech companies typically maintain the right to sell data feeds, ethics experts note that the potential for these posts to dictate market swings makes this specific case unconventional. Neither the target trade groups nor Trump Media & Technology Group responded to requests for comment regarding the senator’s call to action.
