XRP Ledger Nears July 29 Amendment Activation

With the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment securing 85.71% support, the XRP Ledger is set to activate a series of critical protocol maintenance updates on July 29. While the network moves toward this threshold, 99 validators have already adopted the v3.2.0 software release to ensure continued compatibility with the evolving ledger.

XRP Ledger Nears July 29 Amendment Activation

The latest software rollout currently covers 66% of tracked validators and 57.33% of nodes, though a significant portion of the network continues to operate on version 3.1.3. Because amendment approval and software adoption are distinct processes, validator operators must upgrade their infrastructure to prevent becoming blocked once the new rules take effect. The amendment, which requires sustained support from at least 80% of trusted validators for two consecutive weeks, is scheduled to go live at 09:57 UTC on July 29.

Version 3.2.0 functions primarily as a maintenance release, addressing technical inaccuracies within the Lending Protocol, Single Asset Vaults, and the Permissioned DEX. Beyond these fixes, the update marks a shift in branding for the ecosystem, officially renaming the core server software from "rippled" to "xrpld." This transition requires operators to manually update configuration files and deployment paths, a process that developers emphasize is necessary to align the server’s identity with the broader XRP Ledger. As the countdown to the activation deadline continues, the stability of the network depends on node operators migrating to the updated configuration before the protocol rules shift.
