China Escalates LNG Imports as Middle East Supply Risks Mount

With the Strait of Hormuz effectively closed to Qatari shipments, China has ramped up its liquefied natural gas imports for the second consecutive month. China Escalates LNG Imports as Middle East Supply Risks Mount

The recovery follows a slump during the spring, signaling a shift in China’s purchasing strategy. Asia is currently outbidding European buyers, putting immense pressure on the continent’s already depleted storage sites.
