AZ-COM Maruwa to integrate JPYC stablecoin for logistics payments

By committing ¥1 billion to the JPYC issuer, Japanese logistics giant AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings is preparing to shift payment flows for 2,300 partner carriers and independent drivers onto a stablecoin platform, marking the first large-scale corporate implementation of the yen-backed asset in the country.

AZ-COM Maruwa to integrate JPYC stablecoin for logistics payments

The initiative signals a transition for JPYC, moving it from experimental retail trials toward institutional utility. AZ-COM Maruwa, which manages extensive transportation and warehousing infrastructure, intends to use the token to settle outsourcing fees and routine delivery payments. While the company has yet to release a granular schedule or technical details regarding how drivers will convert or hold these digital assets, the scale of the rollout positions the project as a critical stress test for Japan’s stablecoin ecosystem.

This shift arrives as Japanese regulators continue to tighten oversight on stablecoin reserves, mandating that assets like JPYC be backed by bank deposits and government bonds. Beyond the logistics sector, the token is gaining traction through partnerships with firms like Metaplanet for lending products and LINE NEXT for broader payment integration. If the AZ-COM Maruwa rollout succeeds, it could establish a blueprint for other corporations to bypass traditional banking rails in favor of blockchain-based settlement for high-volume business operations.
