The new hub, backed by Ripple developers and the XRP Ledger Foundation, categorizes resources into three functional pillars: real-time tracking of x402 payment activity, a comprehensive suite of software development kits and documentation, and a directory of active AI agents and merchants. By providing this infrastructure, the project aims to help developers identify existing tools before deploying new applications, effectively lowering the barrier to entry for machine-to-machine commerce.
Technical experts, including XRPL validator Vet, attribute the rapid adoption of AI payments to the ledger’s inherent design. The network provides a combination of low transaction costs, predictable fee structures, and a decentralized exchange that facilitates asset swaps without the need for centralized intermediaries. These features allow for the fluid movement of XRP and RLUSD, the core assets currently powering these automated agentic transactions.
Simultaneously, the network is preparing for the transition to the xrpld v3.2.0 software. Currently, 55.63% of trusted validators have adopted the update, which includes the formal rebranding of the core server software from rippled to xrpld as outlined in the XLS-0095 proposal. To reach full activation, the upgrade requires support from over 80% of trusted validators for a sustained two-week period. As adoption continues, the combination of infrastructure upgrades and the new AI Hub signals a concerted effort to solidify the ledger's role in the growing agentic economy.
